Partner to launch a campaign to improve road safety via wearable communication technologies. May 2, 2019 — Terrano Systems announces today its partnership with the OVO Energy Women’s Tour, Britain’s leading professional women’s race, as it continues its aim of creating a safer cycling environment around the world.
In becoming the Official Cycling Communication System Partner of the Women’s Tour, Terrano Systems extends its links to professional women’s cycling, adding to an existing partnership with Canyon//SRAM, the team of the race’s 2017 champion Kasia Niewiadoma.
Terrano Systems develops innovative safety-inspired sport communication systems, based on its passion for safety, human connection and outdoor adventure. Terrano Systems is a product designed for cyclists at virtually any discipline, level and terrain.
The unique cycling technology company is behind the recently launched Terrano XT, a breakthrough communication system that allows hands-free communication, functioning also at high speed and in extreme conditions thanks to an exceptional voice activated, yet noise cancelling speaker.
Terrano is developed for cyclists, by cyclists, driven by adventure, adrenaline and performance balanced with the need to stay safe, in control and facilitating human connection, even in extreme conditions.
Terrano creates a safer cycling environment through reliable communication technology. It offers premium sound capacity with a patented Out of Ear speaker system that allows cyclists to warn of road hazards, communicate location and routes, hear GPS instructions and more, all while keep their hands on the handle bars, their ears open to the sound of the surroundings around them and the focus on riding.
“We believe that the ability to communicate, to share information with other riders instantly and to alert each other in the moment is critical in today’s riding environments. Just as important as wearing protection and be visible on the field, Terrano’s mission is to help improve riders’ control on the fly, anticipate potential dangers and be ready for that moment that things might go wrong. We want to turn cycling into a safer environment, while not harming the ride performance and the enjoyment”, said Ran Margaliot, Managing Partner, Terrano Systems.
“Terrano Systems are pushing the boundaries of technology in order to improve cycle safety, so we’re delighted to partner with them to promote a goal that we share,” said Hugh Roberts,
Chairman of SweetSpot Group. “We look forward showcasing how their communication systems work in the most gruelling of races as the Canyon//SRAM Racing team look to enjoy a successful 2019 OVO Energy Women’s Tour.”
The OVO Energy Women’s Tour expands to six stages in 2019. This year’s race, which begins in Suffolk on Monday 10 June, will see Kent and Oxfordshire welcome the tour for the first time on stages two and three. Burton Dassett Country Park in Warwickshire will host the race’s first hill-top finish on Thursday 13 June, before two gruelling Welsh stages in the counties of Powys and Carmarthenshire will decide the overall champion.
The event continues to form part of the prestigious UCI Women’s WorldTour series. Further information on competing teams, stage times and leaders’ jersey designs will be announced shortly.

Created by SweetSpot Group in 2014, the OVO Energy Women’s Tour is the UK’s first international stage race for women, bringing the world’s top riders to compete in Great Britain as a part of the UCI Women’s WorldTour.
In addition to its wider aims of promoting active and healthy lifestyles to women, the event has championed equality in sport, notably offering the same prize fund pro rata as the men’s OVO Energy Tour of Britain. The race will expand to six days for the first time in its history in 2019.
The race, which has been won by the likes of Marianne Vos (2014), Lizzie Deignan (2016) and Coryn Rivera (2018), attracts an annual roadside audience of 300,000, as well as over three million fans through linear and online platforms.
