Troubleshooting

If you cannot hear audio from one of the speakers or voice from the microphone check for the following in that order;

  1. Insure that the Device properly secured in the Helmet  cradle.
  2. Check that the cradle wire is not damaged or broken.
  3. Check that the connectors are in place and firmly connected.
  4. Check that the connectors are clean.  If needed use a bit of rubbing alcohol to clean them up.
  5. If you have dual set, swap the Communication Devices between the helmets
  1. . If the problem now manifested itself in the other helmet than check the Communication Device. (i) Make sure that the Communication Device is fully charged. (ii) Reset the Communication Device to its factory setting.  If the problem remains and you have going through steps above, send me an email with detailed description of the issue and the steps taken so far.
  2. If the problem remains with the first helmet and you have going through steps 1 to 6 above, email Terrano support team with detailed description of issue and the steps taken so far.
How to setup mic sensitivity?

Turn on the devices them open Terrano Connect App in your smartphone,

 Go to setting –>sensitivity –> choose “Low”

How to Pair My Units?

Power both units on by pressing the mobile button for 2 seconds. To pair the units back together on the “A” intercom channel, press and hold the A button on each unit for 5 seconds. The LEDs on each unit should begin flashing red. After a short period of time, both units will show a solid red LED for two seconds, indicating that they are paired. The units will both return to standby mode. Intercom pairing instructions can be found on Page 10 of the product quick guide.

At this point, please go ahead and attach the units to your helmets.

There are two ways to activate the intercom: voice connect and manual connect.

-To activate the intercom using voice connect, just say a trigger word. My personal experiences say that using something like “wheew!” usually works very well. The intercom channel should open and you should be able to communicate with your other paired device within a few seconds. An intercom call that is activated using voice connect will return to standby mode after 30 seconds of silence.

-To activate the intercom using manual connect, simply tap the A button once from either unit. The intercom channel will open and remain open until you tap the A button again once from either unit to close the intercom channel.

At this point, once you have confirmed that the intercoms are working properly, you can go ahead and pair a mobile phone with each Terrano X unit using the “Pairing a Bluetooth Enabled Device” section in your product manual as a guide. Make sure you only pair one Terrano X unit to a mobile phone. After it is paired, from standby mode, you should be able to start your music by pressing the A button for 2 seconds as noted in page 11 in the product quick guide. You should also be able to start your music directly from your phone if you so desire.

How To Setup Voice Activation?

Voice activation can be customized to make it more or less sensitive. Voice activation for Intercom calls can also be turned OFF.

You can choose between ‘Regular’ and ‘High’ sensitivity. If you experience difficulties starting a conversation, change the setting to ‘High’:

 

In Standby, press (+) and (-) simultaneously for 2 seconds

 

  • Regular: BLUE flash for 2 seconds
  • High: PURPLE flash for 2 seconds
  • Off: RED flash for 2 seconds

 

 

The two modes of Intercom call activation different from each other:

Mode one Push-to-talk; To activate the Intercom call between two Terrano-X units tap on the relevant channel button; A for the channel “A” unit and B for the channel “B” unit, depending on which channel the units were paired on. The call will remain open until disconnected by the user or by picking up an incoming call. For three way call tap both A and B buttons.

Mode Two Voice-Activated ( AKA VOX); To activate the Intercom call between both Channel “A” and “B” units say any word loudly into the microphone.

 

 Note; this is a battery save mode and the call will end automatically after 30 seconds of silence.

Troubleshooting

Speaker is not working

If you cannot hear audio from one of the speakers or voice from the microphone check for the following in that order;

Insure that the Communication Device properly secured in the Helmet Mount.
Check that the Helmet Mount is not damaged and the rear clips are not broken.
Check that both rear clips are in place and firmly holding the Communication Device.
Remove the Communication Device and inspect that the Helmet Mount straps are well secured in place and inserted through the strap guides.
Check that the strap flap is not reinserted in the strap guides.
Check that headset brass connectors are clean.  If needed use a bit of rubbing alcohol to clean them up.
If you have dual set, swap the Communication Devices between the helmets
. If the problem now manifested itself in the other helmet than check the Communication Device. (i) Make sure that the Communication Device is fully charged. (ii) Reset the Communication Device to its factory setting.  If the problem remains and you have going through steps above, send me an email with detailed description of the issue and the steps taken so far.
If the problem remains with the first helmet and you have going through steps 1 to 6 above, email Terrano support team with detailed description of issue and the steps taken so far.
